SCIUKA

Dainius Sciuka, Vilnius
Loft Gallery, Vilnius. Interior by HEIMA architects

Ten years of 35 mm film carried in a pocket. Printed by hand on Hahnemuhle paper, or set inside an OURLUCI lightframe, where the photograph is also the light in the room.

A·01The photographer

A camera in the pocket photographs what happens.

Dainius Sciuka works in Vilnius as a commercial photographer: fashion, advertising, editorial, portraits. Sony Europe Imaging Creator and Apple Ambassador. He is also one of the two people who built this gallery.

Point and Shoot is the opposite of that work. No lights, no crew, no plan. A small film camera that lives in a jacket pocket for ten years across Peru, South Africa, Morocco, California, Tenerife and a village in Lithuania. You photograph what happens, not what you arranged.

The archive holds around 1800 frames on fifty rolls. A handful are printed. The rest are being scanned now, one roll at a time, for the exhibition that opens here on 5 November 2026.

Some of these frames only became photographs ten years after they were taken.
A·02Two ways to own the same frame

Paper, or light.

Every work here exists in two media. The image is the same, the object is not. Choose on the piece page.

Two OURLUCI lightframes at Loft Gallery
Medium 02

OURLUCI lightframe Lit from within

The same photograph inside a 15 mm aluminium frame with LED light behind it. It is the artwork and the light source in one object, which is why it works in a dark restaurant, a corridor or an office wall with no daylight. The corridor above is Loft Gallery in Vilnius, interior by HEIMA architects.

  • Edition of 25, a separate medium with its own numbering
  • Natural silver or black anodised aluminium
  • Transformer and dimmer included, plugs into a normal socket
  • Wall screws, ceiling cable or free standing easel
from €700

Lightframes can also be rented for events and exhibitions, from €45 for three days. Ask us.

A·03In a real space

A corridor with no daylight.

Loft Gallery, Vilnius, interior by HEIMA architects. Eight lightframes carry the whole space, and there is not a single lamp pointed at a picture.

Lightframe by the entrance

Photographs by Dainius Sciuka, frames by OURLUCI. The same setup can be rented for an event or specified for a project.

A·04In the gallery now

Printed and on the wall.

These two are hanging at Naugarduko 41B right now, one on paper and one in a lightframe, so you can see the difference before you choose.
